Claudia & Rod Preview ~ Monroe, WA ~ July 2011

I started off this year’s wedding season with a trip out to a beautiful farm in Monroe, Washington.  Amazingly, the weather was gorgeous… hot and sunny, not a cloud in the sky.  Quite a contrast from the typical 60 degree cloudy weather we’ve been getting this summer in Seattle.  It was a fun wedding!  I especially enjoyed the horses, blue jeans, cowboy hats, and country music.  The bride & groom even did a portion of the ceremony on horseback (photos will be posted soon)!  Here are a couple of my favorite shots thus far.  More pictures to come soon!

Built for Man Mirror Shot ~ Fashion ~ July 2011

Had another great shoot with Francisco Hernandez (Built for Man Designer/Creative Director), Tupper (model/hair stylist), and Chris (assistant/stylist intern) this past weekend. Everyone did a wonderful job; it’s so fun working with such a great team. Most of the shots are still being processed, but in the meantime, here’s one of the “just for fun” shots from the very end of the shoot, and a behind the scenes shot.

425 Magazine/Built for Man ~ Fashion ~ July 2011

Congratulations to Francisco Hernandez of Built for Man for being voted the “Best Local Designer” in the 425 Magazine! I’ve really enjoyed working with Francisco over the past 6-7 months, and I’m definitely looking forward to many more shoots with him in the months to come…. his clothing is just so beautiful!

I’m also excited because this is the first time one of my fashion photos has been printed in a magazine (thus far, everything else has been featured in online magazines).  If you’re interested in seeing more of my fashion photos, you can check out my fashion portfolio/slideshow in the menu bar above.  Also, if you want to see the magazine in person, the magazine is currently available at various locations in Seattle, the Eastside, and various neighboring regions.  Check out their website for more information.

Way to go! Getting published is terribly exciting! Keep up the good work. Not very many people get to do what they love and get paid for it!

Gasworks/Lake Union Fireworks Show ~ Seattle, WA ~ July 4, 2011

Happy 4th of July 2011!  After enjoying the sun with some friends at Lake Sammamish, I ended up watching the Gasworks/Lake Union Fireworks show from the rooftop deck of an apartment building in Wallingford.  It was an interesting view!  I was at a higher elevation than previous years (see the blog entry *here* for comparison), so some of the lower explosions are hidden behind some trees, but the silhouetted trees at the bottom does provide an interesting aesthetic change from previous years.

As a technical note, the large shot with the three purple fireworks was photoshopped a little.  I moved the fireworks to a different point in the sky and brightened the city.  Everything else is shown pretty much the way it was shot.  Enjoy.:)
