Happy 4th of July!

In honor of Independence Day, I’ve decided to post some of my favorite 4th of July fireworks photos from the past few years. The photos from 2007 and 2008 were all taken at the City of Sammamish’s fireworks show, and the photos from 2009 and 2010 were all taken at a friend’s apartment in Wallingford of the Seattle’s fireworks show on Lake Union.  Not entirely sure where I will be tonight, but hopefully it will involve some awesome fireworks because fireworks are one of my favorite things to photograph (along with lightning storms).

Apples & Tomatoes ~ Splash ~ June 2011

I’ve always been intrigued by water.  Back in my early days at Cornell (when most of my photographic knowledge came from first hand experience), I did all sorts of photography experiments with water.  One sunny day down in the gorge (about two weeks after I got my first dSLR camera), I figured out you could “freeze” water in place by using a very fast shutter speed.  After that, I spent the rest of the afternoon “freezing” various parts of the river.  It was fascinating by the shapes the water made (scroll down to the bottom to see one of these photos).  Obviously my knowledge and skills have improved since this sunny afternoon in the gorge over five years ago, but clearly my interest in water has remained…

And now for a flash back to April 2006… View full post »

Eric & Alyssa ~ Graduation ~ June 2011

Congratulations to Eric and Alyssa on your graduation from college!  We had a great time celebrating this monumental event by taking photos in the woods on Tiger Mountain and driving out at Snoqualmie Falls. Unfortunately the trail down to the bottom of the falls is closed until Spring 2013, but we still had fun up at the top.  Here are some of my favorites.

Feeney Architectural Products ~ Commercial ~ Winter ’10/’11

This past winter, I photographed all the new fittings for Feeney Architectural in both isometric and side views.  Below are a couple samples of the photos I took and then some samples of how the photos have been used in marketing, advertising, and sales sheets.  (As a side note, all the pieces were photographed individually as seen in the beginning of the slideshow; the crew at Feeney then took these individual photos and put them all together in post production).

Here some of the individual photos of the fittings have been put together into a single photo.

O Wines ~ Commercial ~ Spring 2011

During my time with Seattleite Magazine over the past few months, I’ve had the opportunity to meet and photograph a lot of awesome people, including Kathy and Stacy of O Wines.  (The photo I took of them for Seattleite Magazine can be seen here: Drink for a Good Cause? O’ Why Not!)  After the shoot, Kathy and Stacy asked me if I could take some photos of one of their bottles.  Some of the results can be seen below:
